The Burgundy Truffle has a rough, chocolatey-colored exterior with large diamond-shaped points. The truffle's flesh is veined and coffee-colored. The autumn truffle species has an earthy hazelnut flavor which is not as potent as the winter truffle, but still stronger than the summer Tuber Aestivum (likely because of more time left underground). Foraged in Italy and France!
Because truffles are foraged from the earth, their flavor and aroma will naturally vary. We select truffles with tremendous care based on visual and olfactory inspection, but we cannot taste each one. Enjoy!
